As most of you know, I had public divorce with my Shimano Stella F1 on our Facebook Groups.
WE ARE DONE!
Though being a keyboard warrior level 9000 I didn't want to behave like that to my Sweetmano Stella and went about clearly explaining what I thought happened.
IS IT THIS WASHER!
I have had a long relationship with Tan Thong Chong or TTC as Maggie and Doris have exclusively spooled ALL my reels for years or 9 out of 10 times it's them as I use Power Pro a lot next to Fireline.
I went to speak to them and they said these magic words:
"EH "AH LUKE" AH, WHY DON'T YOU LEAVE IT WITH SHIMANO SINGAPORE, THEY WILL ORDER ALL THE PARTS FOR YOU. YOU JUST PAY THE SERVICING AND PARTS"
Wait a cotton picking minute, you mean I can just send my reel in, ask them to over haul or buy all the parts on my behalf and for a fee I can just pick it up?!
Service Centers in Singapore for Shimano
1/ They have trained servicing agents
2/ You can also ask the service centers to send directly to Shimano.
3/ Reels to direct dealers will send it back to Shimano so just ask them what they are.
4/ Sincere, Top Gear and Dash are direct dealers, but so is Angler's Hut which is also a Service Center, cool huh.

WHY HAVE I NOT KNOWN ABOUT THIS SERVICE?!
The Secret: Most to all Sweetmano Reels end up in the hands of a high level secret unit in Shimano Singapore where there are trained and certified servicing agents that fix your reel to brand new.
There are 2 issues we Singaporeans worry about that Shimano has silently sat there not worrying about, just you (and me).
Issue 1/ Your warranty has expired
You get parts and servicing at a cheaper price, don't be a cheap bastard like me and pretend I can put a Stella together, so I buy my parts and fix it myself and end up looking at my broken reel 5 months later.
Your warranty still "works?
Issue 2/ You bought a PI set
So this is what I learnt about buying a PI set. Hi I am Luke and I have bought many reels, without a warranty or without going to a shop, through classifieds.fishingkaki.com or online and I do this to save a whopping SGD$40 bucks or so.

Now that you bought a PI set, you will have pay a premium to fix your reel, why though? It's about support. Buy from a local shop, get a local warranty, get local servicing and pay less when it dies: This is better known as Insurance. Makes sense?
Now you know, send your reel in to the Service Centers and get rid of your headaches.
Shimano Singapore has come through for me, I guarantee they will come through for you.
And the moment everyone has been waiting for, what happened to my Stella F1, well I forgot to put back a retainer which allowed the drag plate to move around.
